When he is not fishing, his other favourite hobbies are snowboarding and mountain biking.
Jan loves the outdoors for fishing and just to observe and enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer!

Roman Matěj (Czech Republic)

Roman-Matej-WPC2015Roman Matěj is 40 years old and was born in Olomouc.Roman tells :

“I have been a fisherman from the age of six. I have mainly focused on catching predators in the last fifteen years, with emphasis on pike-perch and pike, using casting, vertical spinning as well as trolling.

My favourite locations include large water dams and rivers in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Italy. My equipment includes an Alumacraft 165 classic boat with Mercury 100 hp motor and all other necessary tools.

I have truly become addicted to fishing over the last couple of years and I can say I spend half of my time dedicated to my passion; the other half is split among work, family and martial arts, which I have practiced for about 20 years.

I am married, with two sons. My job fortunately allows me to master my schedule according to my needs and therefore I am able to devote my time to my beloved hobbies.

To participate in the WPC is an interesting challenge for me with the possibility of getting to know new locations, new friends and make great memories from a new fishing event.”

Good luck to both competitors from all the VMC Team!
